FIGHTING TO KEEP AND CREATE JOBS NOW

Jon Switalski’s first priority as a state representative will be to protect our current jobs and create new, good-paying jobs now for our working families. Outsourcing and downsizing have hit Michigan hard, and too many working families are struggling to keep up with mortgage payments and pay medical bills. Jon will fight against the outsourcing of our jobs, and he will continue to work hard to secure job-training funds to re-train Macomb County residents for work in high-demands fields such as health care and high tech manufacturing.

INCREASING ACCESS TO HEALTH CARE

Too many of our residents have to get by without health insurance. Many more have some insurance, but not enough for quality care to be affordable. Meanwhile, the skyrocketing cost of prescription drugs is outrageous. Jon is now leading the fight to increase access to health care for everyone in our community.

As a County Commissioner, Jon led the successful dental discount initiative that saves residents up to 60 percent off dental bills. This program is the first of its kind in Michigan. As a state representative, Jon will continue fighting for initiatives that support Macomb County’s working families.

PROTECTING INDEPENDENT LIVING

Jon is fighting to ensure that seniors and persons with disabilities have the option of staying in their own homes while receiving the care they need instead of being forced into nursing homes. Jon has proven his commitment here in Macomb County by fighting for home health care workers, and as a state representative, he will continue to be a strong voice on this important issue.
